Knowing All About Hot Water Pressure Washers

Two types of hot water pressure washer machines are currently available: ordinary hot water machines and tri-mode machines. Before going into details of these machines, it would be worthwhile to have a look into some of their basic aspects.

Basic Features
A hot water pressure cleaner can provide an output temperature of up to 210°F. For this, these machines should contain heating elements. Normally, hot pressure cleaning machines can provide two types of output: hot water and cold water, in other words, heated output and non-heated output.

The difference between a hot pressure cleaner machine and an ordinary pressure washer lies only on its output temperature. There are machines that do not contain heating elements. These are called cold water pressure washing equipment. There are machines that can provide higher output temperatures. These are known as steam pressure washing machines, which can provide output temperatures of up to 330°F.

There is not much difference between an ordinary pressure cleaner and a tri-mod pressure washing equipment in other aspects. For example, there is no constraint on output pressure level or flow rate. Any kind of power source can be used.

Now, it is time move into different categories of hot water pressure washing equipment.

Ordinary Hot Water Machines:
These are one of the widely used cleaning machines. These are used for cleaning outdoor locations such as parks, stadiums, roads, pavement, and parking lots. These are also used as hard surface cleaners of indoor areas, such as floors and walls. Normally, ordinary hot water pressure washers are classified into two types based on the power source: machines powered by electricity and machines powered by fossil fuels.

Electricity-Powered Machines:
Pressure washing machines can have one of two types of sources for generating output pressure: an electric motor or a combustion engine. Machines that use electric motors are known as electric pressure washers, and those that use combustion engines are known as gas pressure washing machines. Heating elements can also be powered by electricity or fossil fuel. The machines that have electricity to power heating elements are known as electric-powered pressure washing equipment.

Normally, these machines are all electric pressure washers; that is, they use electricity to generate both output temperature and output pressure. These machines work smoothly and silently. Moreover, these machines do not emit any combustion byproducts.

Machines Powered by Fossil Fuels:
In such machines, the heating elements are powered by fossil fuel, such as kerosene, diesel, or gas. Such heating elements are used both in electric pressure washers and in gas pressure washers. In fact, such machines are more common than all electric machines.

Tri-Mode Machines:
This is another category of hot water pressure washer machines. These machines can provide three kinds of output temperature: cold water, hot water, and steam. Cleaning workers can change the output temperature based on the nature of the surface.

These are costlier than ordinary pressure washing equipment but suitable for cleaning companies and big factories that have varieties of surfaces to clean. The main advantage of tri-mode equipment is that they can be used to clean almost all kinds of hard surfaces. These machines definitely enhance cleaning efficiency and speed up the cleaning process.

Concrete Cleaning by Pressure Washing

Whether you're a homeowner or a business owner, concrete is present in nearly every modern structure. Concrete originates back to the Ancient Romans where it was used widely in their architecture. Since concrete has existed it has been prone to stains and discoloration, but recent technology makes restoring it to its original color possible. Properly removing the different substances and grimes that can stain your concrete structures involves different types of pressure washing.

Concrete is a combination of cement and small gravel or rocks. Water mixed with the cement creates a bonding agent that holds the gravel together. This combination is stronger than cement alone, but leaves more gaps where unwanted materials can settle. With cement already having a tendency to bond to other materials, concrete can be tricky to clean without the proper pressure washing tools.

Concrete naturally becomes discolored over time from dirt and grime that settles into the tiny holes in the surface. The process is gradual and hard to detect because the color darkens very slowly. This discoloration does not cause any structural damage or erosion to the rock, but dirt often collects unevenly across the surface and eventually causes unsightly patterns.

Removing dirt due to natural causes is a straightforward process. Some chemicals help loosen the dirt from the pores of the concrete, making removal easier. Caution should be utilized when using any chemicals, though, as many can be damaging to the environment and should not run into sewer systems. Chemical baths for the concrete may not be necessary for routine cleaning, as pressure washing alone is more than effective for dirt removal. Blasting the surface with water at a high intensity knocks dirt and grime loose.

Concrete is also prone to other types of stains that are more difficult to remove. Driveways and carports tend to collect stains from the motor oil of cars. Any type of grease, rust or paint can get embedded in a concrete surface under the right circumstances. Unexpected acts of vandalism can also leave graffiti marks that are difficult to remove by hand.

In these situations a more thorough cleaning is necessary. In order to clean these levels of grime, they must often be treated with chemical cleaners. Allowing the area to soak in the proper solvent loosens the chemical bonds to the concrete. At this point, pressure washing will knock the debris loose from the rock. Sometimes chemicals cannot be used and sandblasting is used instead. Often historical buildings or areas that drain into bodies of water cannot be treated chemically. The grains of sand scrub the surface of the rock and can have the same affect as a chemical treatment.

Whatever the culprit for dirty concrete may be, a good combination of chemicals and pressure washing can refresh a dull surface to its original look. Tougher stains may call for deeper cleanings, but regular maintenance of a concrete surface can help keep major problems from arising. Before using chemicals of any kind, though, be sure to check with your local safety laws.

Several Uses of an Industrial Pressure Washer

An industrial pressure washer is one of the most powerful and efficient cleaning machines presently available. These machines offer unmatched output pressure levels and temperatures. Heavy-Duty Degreasing

However, there are specially made machines that have low flow rates and reasonably high output pressure.

Auto Detailing
Pressure washing machines are used for cleaning automobiles as well. One thing to ensure is that the machine does not have an output pressure level exceeding 1500 psi. The flow rate also needs to be low. Otherwise, water run-off could cause extreme fines.

There are specially made industrial high pressure washer models for auto detailing. These machines have modest output pressure levels, low flow rates, and high output temperatures. Portable machines are best suited for large-scale auto detailing.
